One Small Step For Man(ish)…

Just watched Doctor Who episode 2 of season 6 - "Day Of The Moon". Brilliant! So, obviously, I had Neil Armstrong's little quote in my head. But with reason.


I stayed up all night to do the page / panel break-downs of my Eighth Doctor comic strip (ooh, 'eighth' is such a weird word to write, almost as weird as "Siúil, siúil, siúil a rúin; Siúil go socair agus siúil go ciúin; Siúil go doras agus ealaigh liom; Is go dtéann tú mo mhuirnín slán" - but that's neither here nor there).


I'm just about to place the dialogue proper into the script, give it the once over and "hey, presto!" part one will be writtin in full! The new, extended 'full' as opposed to the previous partial 'full' of it's original iteration (seriously, who could be happy with a four-page episode?).


Anyway, in celebration of me being on my way to finishing something (yay) I've included some 'sneak-peaks' from part one of Doctor Who: Night Light taken from the existing work I completed ten years ago. Keep checking in for updates and the third installment of Coven will be up next weekend.

DOCTOR WHO: COVEN - part two

Yay! Here's part two, fans! I know you're out there, even if you don't comment... Right...?

So, this blog tells me I did my last two entries on "Thursday", whereas I'm sure it was Friday. So it assume I'm in some alien timezone. So, apart from being up to 20 hours behind I'm starting to feel like I'm rushing this upload, even though it's after midnight here right now.

But this is unimportant. If I wanted to change the timezone I'm sure I could. Instead, I choose to just point it out and marvel at the strangeness of the world, even the virtual parts.

So, that nonsense out of the way, please enjoy part 2 of Doctor Who: Coven.

Coming Soon… the sequel

Yeah, I thought I'd add to the 'teaser' by including the cover of my notebook in which I'm plotting out the Benny story. I'm nearing the conclusion with only a few pages of the book left to write in. And I thought I was being concise. :-S

But here's the cover, with a few random design ideas and a Benny rough. It will be set during her solo New Adventures days, simply because it's an easier setting and I won't have to worry about her baby or any of those other tightly-linked relationships shown in the Big Finish range (which are great, by the way, but for a limited story that will need to link to Doctor Who this older setting is much easier to write for).

Oooh, it's a TEASER!

Well, not really all that thrilling. Just letting you know that  DOCTOR WHO: COVEN - part 2 will be uploaded tomorrow, if all goes as planned.

I'm currently plotting out a script for a Bernice Summerfield comic, which I wanted to do as part of this Doctor Who series. The plan was to have a 6th Doctor story, an 8th Doctor story, a Bernice Summerfield story, a 5th Doctor story and a 7th Doctor story and then have them all paid-off together in a grand finalé.

Big ideas and not enough output, unfortunately. It was some time ago and I never got past doing 'part one' of the 8th Doctor story. However, now I'm not constrained by fanzine space limitations I intend to make fuller stories, so the 8th Doctor strip has really been fleshed out and I'm in the middle of scripting it out in full. So, the former 'part one' will increase in size and become a, hopefully, more rewarding experience.

I'm putting up the 6th Doctor episodes (4 in total) each week to give me some time to work on the others, but I doubt I'll have enough ready by the end of the Coven run so I'll post some other tid-bits in between the stories and hopefully I'll get time to give you something decent.

DOCTOR WHO: COVEN - part one (First comic to put up. Yay!)

OK, I'm finally getting around to it. I thought the first thing to put up would be a DOCTOR WHO comic featuring (my personal favourite) Colin Baker as the 6th Doctor.

I created this for a fanzine I was working on some time back and it will be part of a much much larger story arc, but is completely self-contained. Evenutally I'll get around to doing all the other stories... he says, ten years later. Some have been started, partially scripted, story breakdowns done... But I'm not yet satisfied. I'll try get them to you soon, if you're interested. Please let me know what you think.

These are about 10 years old and I've done some learning and growing since then. As I mentioned earlier, this was published in a fanzine and available page-count was minimal so the story suffers a little for it, I feel. But, I'm just picky. Let me know what you'd like to see for future uploads.

The Next Big Thing

OK, so new blog.

Haven't touched my LJ in over a year, but SURE, I'll start a new one.

Actually, this will probably end up showing my creative stuffings. Maybe I'll put up some comics as I get around to them.

Anyone has any suggestion of ANYTHING they want to see me put up (art works, possibly vids, song, stories) I'll see what I can come up with.

Anyway, don't be shy! Talk to me.

If you like the comics and artworks idea that's super easy for me. Now-and-then I work on some Doctor Who comics, so I'd be happy to put old ones up until I have time to finish what I was last working on.

Otherwise, I'm working on my own stuff, and this could be just the place to test them. Message me and let me know if you want to see anything and be my test audience. Yay!
